Central Office/Headend Solutions Copy

The central office or headend is the heart of your network. With reliability being critical, you need products that optimize your network’s capabilities. Corning’s hardware solutions available through KGPCo simplify the design and deployment of your central office or headend, with versatile product families that offer industry-leading density and flexibility and provide the lowest total cost of ownership. Options include:

Centrix™ System is a high-density fiber management system that provides a balance of industry-leading density with innovative jumper routing. The system supports up to 4,320 LC or 2,880 SC connector ports per standard 7-ft frame and can be deployed in multiple applications including: central office, headend, FTTx, FTTCS, and data center.

Eclipse® Hardware Family is specifically designed for FTTx applications. The Eclipse wall-mountable connector housings provide interconnect or cross-connect capabilities and are available with a variety of splitter solutions that can be co-located within the same hardware frame. The units are ideal for low-fiber-count distribution applications (school systems, public libraries, and businesses) and are available in two sizes: the 3-panel housing and the 6-panel housing.

Enhanced Management Frame (EMF) is designed for FTTx, cross-connect, and interconnect applications. The integrated modular design allows growth and expansion of a fiber management system one frame, one module, and one fiber termination at a time. User-friendly features such as single jumper length, in-bay jumper storage, transparent modules, and multiple inter-bay routing options make this frame an ideal solution for both FTTx deployments and traditional cross-connect and interconnect applications.

Fiber to the Home (FTTH) is the installation and use of optical fiber all the way to individual buildings such as single family units (SFUs), multidwelling units (MDUs), and businesses to provide high-speed broadband access. FTTH dramatically increases connection speeds and reliability for broadband networks compared to existing copper infrastructures.

Corning Optical Communications is an industry-leading supplier of FTTH product solutions, with more than 10 years and in excess of 25 million homes passed (HP) and counting. Our extensive portfolio of products available through KGPCo and network expertise ensure our ability to provide solutions that address major challenges such as speed of deployment, labor costs, performance and quality cost deferment, and network future readiness.
